THE SIMPLICITY OF PRAYER
Page 56 🕮 "Prayer is a conversation with God. It is like a regular conversation, you want to talk and listen, not just talk. Imagine God sitting in the room with you, in the car next to you, anywhere you are, He is right next to you and you are just talking with Him.
Prayer does not have to be “religious” on your knees, in a different voice, all weird, it is a conversation that you want to be in. You can have a conversation with God, anywhere and at all times. Some of the most powerful prayers I have ever had is driving from home to the gym, driving to appointments and that's 5-15 minutes, not hours. It is not the amount of time in prayer but it’s the quality of time in prayer. 5 minutes can be stronger than 5 hours.
God wants you all day, not just when you feel like you have time. The more time you spend with God the more you will start to hear God throughout the day."
PRAYER IS A LIFESTYLE
Page 62 🕮 "Prayer is not what you do, it is who you are.
Prayer is not a moment; it is a constant."
Philippians 4:6 (ESV) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
PRAYER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED
WITH GOD’S WORD
Page 71-73 🕮 "When you are praying make sure to mix what God says into your prayer. Do not change God's Word, let God's Word change you and your circumstances. Do not fit God's Word into your life-fit your life into God's Word. Find scriptures in the bible that build your faith for what you are needing. Like if you were looking for healing, you would look up scriptures about healing and being healed and speaking them.
Here are a few examples.
Here is a great scripture for healing.
Exodus 23:25 (ESV) 25 You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.
Here is one way that you can pray with the scripture.
“Father God I come before you and I thank you Lord that according to Exodus 23:25 that I am able to serve you with everything that I have and that you will bless my bread and water and that they will be strength and energy to my body. I thank you Lord that you have taken all sickness and disease away from me, that you are my healer, you are my God and through you Lord I am healed and made healthy!” (This is just an example of how to pray scripture into your daily needs.)
Here are a few great scriptures on fear.
1 John 4:18 (ESV) 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Here is one way that you can pray with the scripture.
“Lord I thank you that you love me and that because you love me Lord, that fear has no authority over me. I thank you Lord that I may fall short, but you are not out to hurt me, curse me, or make me sick, but you Lord have given your Son for me and through Jesus, your love has been perfected in my life. Lord I know you are for me and not against me. I will live in your love and that will help me become more and more like you daily. I thank you that you have not given me a spirit of fear, worry or timidity but of power, love and a sound mind.”
(This is just an example of how to pray scripture into your daily needs.)
Always remember that the power of your prayer comes from speaking God's Word. God is out to fulfill his Word, so speak it. Everything you will ever need in this life and the life to come is in his Word, NOW SPEAK IT!!"
Jeremiah 1:12 (NKJV) 12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
